Brief Introduction

Post was born on July 4, 1945 in New York to Rich Post and Nicole Frazier Lake. They got divorced while Austin was young and Rich raised the boy with his second wife, Jodie Post. Being a disc jockey in his youth, his father was the one who introduced Austin to the world of music.
At the age of nine, the family moved to Texas, where he started learning to play a guitar. He was apparently inspired by the video game Guitar Hero.

In 2010, he auditioned for the American rock band “Crown the Empire” but was rejected because his guitar strings broke during the audition.

When he was 16, Post created his first mixed tape titled “Young and after them riches” and was voted “most likely to be famous in the future” by his schoolmates.
He joined the Tarrant County College for a while but soon dropped out and moved to Los Angeles with his friend, Jason.

His career

Post said he chose Post Malone as his stage name when he was 15 using a “name generator”.
After his move to LA, Malone, Jason and some other music artists created the group BLCKVRD and recorded music together.

In 2015, Malone uploaded his song “White Iverson” to his Sound cloud. While many praised his effort, some had critical comments to give about this song.
The song however gained a huge amount (one million views) of attention within a short period of time and Malone became a focus for many record labels.
This was the rising point in his career.
Soon after, he signed a contract with Republic records and worked with music personalities like 50 cents, Kanye West and many others. He became friends with Justin Bieber and was a part of his world tour.

In April, 2016, his new single “Go flex” came out. Same year, in May, he released another mix tape called August 26, a reference to his debut date. That year he also made his TV debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live. In December, he released his much awaited album “Stoney”. The album was a hit and made it to #6 on the US Billboard 200. 2016 was a good year for Malone.

In 2017, his song “Rockstar” made it to #1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 and was able to maintain that position for eight weeks straight.

In 2018, his song “Psycho” managed to become #2 and soon #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

His second album “Beerbongs and Bentleys ” was also a huge success internationally.

Backlash from fellow artists

In an interview back in 2017, Malone stated that the current hip-hop music does not involve realistic, life-related topics. He said that if you are thinking about life, you should not listen to hip-hop.
This statement brought quite some backlash not only from his fellow rappers, but also social media. There were a lot of questions raised and comments made about Malone’s concepts regarding hip-hop music. Rappers like Lil B showed disagreement as well as disappointment in his statement. Among all the inspiring Post Malone Quotes, this one attracted quite a controversy.

His own business

In May 2018, Malone’s manager disclosed in an interview with Billboard that Malone was looking to start his own record label and film production company. This would definitely be a huge advancement in the career of Post Malone as a music artist as well as a businessman in the music industry.

His tattoos

Malone has received quite some judgment, comments, questions and jokes regarding his personal appearance. From his face to his hair to his clothes, everything has been held under the microscope several times. The presence of multiple tattoos on his face invites criticism, controversy and judgment from a huge group of his following as well as non-following audience. Even though his physical appearance and body is nobody’s concern other than his own, people have never shied away from making memes about it on social media.
Regardless, Malone has never taken these comments personally nor has he ever been publically offended. He loves his fans and is very humble with them, which is why they continue to love him like they do.

Awards

Post’s work has been acknowledged by people from a variety of age groups. Not just recognized, he has been nominated several times at the 61st Grammy Awards. His album “Beerbongs and Bentleys” held a nomination for Album of the year, while his song “Rockstar” was nominated for Record of the year and Best Rap Performance.
His “Better now” was nominated for Best Solo Performance.
In 2018, he won Top Rap Song at the Billboard Music Awards for his song “Rockstar” featuring 21 Savage.

At Last

Post Malone is currently at the peak of his career because his target audience loves his music. Even though many criticize him for using his parents to get his way into the media, many look up to him for music inspiration and there is no doubt that some of Post Malone Quotes are a true source of motivation for the younger generation looking to join the music industry.
